AGS Games on steam
Hi all,
I recently came to the conclusion that I really enjoy the type of adventures that the Adventure Game Studio ( AGS ) crowd has to offer, especially those games that have been released on steam.
I guess it’s a combination of the retro-look that takes us back to the golden era Sierra and LucasArts games, and the fact that they have been polished enough to make it to steam.
Out of my head games that fit this description:
All Wadjet Eye games (Blackwell series, Shivah, Gemini Rue, Resonance, Primordia, puzzlebots)
Ben there, Dan that, time gentlemen please!
Heroine’s Quest (free!)
The Samaritan Paradox
Any additions that are worth looking in to?
Thanks
Ps i know puzzlebots might not be the best game ever :p
Max: Right! We’ll travel through this dimensional portal on the top of the bar!
Sam: That’s spilled beer, rockhead.
Max: Oh in that case ...
not to forget the cat lady

A free one that jumps to top of my head you should check out: donna avenger of blood. You’ll get that same feeling as from heroine quests “i cant believe a free game has this much content”
It also has a similar vibe to the cat lady.
(granted, its not on steam)

It’s good Steam opened up a bit for more games, but right now being released there doesn’t automatically equal polished or good. There is a lot of garbage/unfinished games being greenlighted on Steam now.
“Quest For Infamy” was made with AGS, and it will be available on Steam when released.
Bt
Fortunately, QFI won’t be available ‘only’ on Steam.

You can blame Valve’s love for the community because it was the butthurt gamers/developers that felt it was too hard to get their game on Steam. lol

Correction: Unfortunately. Tired of people being butthurt over Steam. :p

Are you? That’s too bad.

I must of replied to the wrong post, because I could swear your post had subtle butthurt, especially in a thread all about steam with clear indication that nothing was said about steam exclusives.
When I hear people show any bit of sarcastic or blatant hostility about Steam, I think of a world where people go to war over which book is on which bookshelf.

Subtle only compared to yours.

I made a statement. You picked up the gun. Care to take another shot?

As a faithful backer, i should have included that one in the list.
Also, I know that steam does not automatically equal quality, but for AGS games, there seams to be a some kind of correlation.

It is true that it’s not ONLY available on Steam - it’ll be available on GoG.com and via Humble as well. I think having a game on Steam is great for many consumers, but there are others that don’t want it. I’m just happy to be able to offer the choice.

Try our game Mudlarks
It’s made with AGS and is getting good reviews so far. And it’s free!
