Who was the third greatest old school graphic adventure company in your opinion?
Poll: 3rd greatest Total Votes: 31 |

---|---|
Revolution | 13 |
Infogrames | 2 |
Westwood | 2 |
Microprose | 1 |
Psygnosis | 1 |
Access Software | 1 |
Other | 11 |
I think Westwood gets my vote.
I mean the first Legend of Kyrandia was not bad at all. It was a nice effort as their first adventure game. But then came the second one, Hand of Fate, and it surpassed the original in every way.
Not trying to be all controversial here, but for me it’s Sierra. Behind Lucasarts and Legend.
Sierra had a massive quantity of games, but quality and inspiration were more often than not in short supply.
Revolution was and still is
Playing: 1) Broken Sword 5 2) Road 96
Legend Entertainment.
Another vote for Legend
And one more vote for Legend.

Revolution was better than Lucas or Sierra for me always
Cyan Worlds… Well I’d actually put them at #2, and Sierra at #3.

I’m assuming that the OP has put Sierra and Lucas Arts in the #1 and #2 position. I would agree with the prior poster that Sierra was undoubtedly the most prolific, but the quality of individual games was hit or miss. So I will cast my vote for Legend as a member of the top three. I’ll let another poll decide where it should fall.
For whom the games toll,
they toll for thee.

I would think of Cyan as the demarcation point. Anything pre-MYST is old school. What is problematic is that MYST was released in 1993. And Legend’s Callahan’s Crosstime Saloon was released in 1997. And I certainly consider CCS to be old-school.

they toll for thee.
