Community Playthrough #28: Gray Matter
It’s not a coincidence, I’ve checked Every line has an anagram somewhwere (usually (or always, can’t remember) in the end) and C Railer Swoll is an anagram of Lewis Carroll
I will take your word for it, and… eh… that ‘C Railer Swoll’ anagram is really so obvious that even I should have seen it
(Did I mention that I suck at anagrams?)

Like I said before, I know how that feels - I barely got the full thing on my first playthrough, only after I finished the puzzle if I remember

Maybe if it was Lowas Cirrell I could have got it

Well, then here you go:
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
Some random “excerpts” from my “Print-screen album”:
Worst. Red Herring. Ever.
Stop it!
Fast inventory scrolling, anyone?
If this was “Match that screen” thread.
If this was was “Match that screen with a movie” thread.

That lazy sun reminds me of Memento Mori (OK, I’m stopping with the game comparison!)
Why I don’t have these contacts in-game? I feel cheated!
If this was “Match t…” ... OK, OK!
Gaaaaabe!
I’m possum…
Did you notice the spider in the upper right corner?
Because it wasn’t there before! Or am I going crazy?!
OK, this is the last one, I swear!
Anyone got the full bonus?
Eyes Wide Shut…
Speaking of Tom Cruise...

but after finding of Sams “betrayal” he just thinks he is being played and everything at the college is a sham
Now, this I find very interesting - I never thought about it this way. I find that although I myself never felt this to be true, it is a very interesting way for David to feel.
I enjoy playing adventure games on my Alienware M17 r4 and my Nintendo Switch OLED.

I do like how Styles fits in perfectly in the Daedalus Club as everybody is wearing a mask here.

My thoughts exactly! He didn’t need to wear a costume or a mask! On the other hand, did anyone find intriguing that the Daedalus Club was expecting him personally? The very same victim of Sam’s Grand Game? (at least that’s what the DC thinks)
Puzzle-wise, despite being a short chapter it still managed to annoy me in the lab puzzle - Again with lack of direction and sense - an expert in Neurology needs to print out an anatomy atlas so see what that part of the brain is…
Hehe… The game managed to stump me twice now, because I haven’t checked the computer files. Like I said, if Gray Matter will teach my anything, it’s to read carefully every bit of a document in adventure games. (again and again )

Intriguing, but not unexpected.
Mephistopheles has been keeping an eye on what is going on, and that poster has to have been put up by someone, most likely Mephistopheles as an invitation to Styles.

I thought that would have been a lesson you learned many years ago
Though not common in many new games, it was very common requirement in older games.

Yeah, but I’m not speaking of simply checking the every document you stumble upon - what I’m saying is that I was TWICE hopelessly stuck in Gray Matter only because I’ve disregarded computer as something that needs to be inspected, because I already did it before. But in GM, the files I’ve already seen in previous chapters, are necessary to be seen again in the light of new information and chapter context

This struck me as being extremely weird as well. You wouldn’t think he’d need that basic a brush-up.
On the other hand, did anyone find intriguing that the Daedalus Club was expecting him personally? The very same victim of Sam’s Grand Game? (at least that’s what the DC thinks)
I’m not sure that’s what the DC (as a whole) was thinking. Styles was recognized by the “trickster” doorman (third character in the game with a Scottish accent, though I suppose that’s pretty common), and then Styles spoke to someone else at the club who may or may not have known who he was—at least, that’s how I interpreted the conversation. (Personally, I agree that this other guy DOES know who Styles is.) The person Styles spoke to at some length may have been trying to cause a ruckus between Styles and Sam. Or he may have been an innocent speaking off the cuff. Probably the former, IMHO. I find his clothing suspicious.
I finally identified the mask that’s part of the interface for Sam’s chapters. She uses it in her magic act and she calls it “Phoebus.”

Yes, Styles fit right in inside the Daedalus Club - this part of the chapter amazed me. The whole Daedalus Club event I was intrigued by - I was starting to really wonder WHAT exactly was going on during this part of the chapter.
When I finally finished chapter 7 - I really wanted to play chapter 8 immediately—to get some answers - but I’m going to wait of course until we are given the signal to proceed.
