Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Wednesday 9 January 2013
Yeah, Geoffrey Rush was fantastic in his role! I absolutely loved him, and I don’t think they could’ve cast a better man for the job.
Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.
...Although it was obvious in the fourth Pirates movie that he didn’t want to be in it, but had to because he was under contract. It’s the only Geoffrey Rush performance I didn’t like - he was visibly annoyed throughout.
He’s one of the very best actors, imo. Heck, he was better than Colin Firth in The King’s Speech… and Firth (deservedly) won an Oscar for his performance!
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
I didn’t really notice that when watching, but now that you say it, I guess you’re right. He did seem quite annoyed, but it didn’t occur to me that it wasn’t a part of the acting.

I’d understand that about the parts where he has the wig and the excessive make-up on, but there’s no reason for his character to be so annoyed throughout the second half of the film, imo.
