Should be permanent, the game was released for free several years ago (and was promptly picked up for ScummVM). My guess is that GOG just adapted it for play under Vista and Win7/8 without the need for ScummVM…

Btw, if you’ve never played it, I highly recommend it…

The great thing about the GOG release is that they also release the soundtrack and a document by the game creator about the making of the game.

Thanks Wilco!  I have tried twice in the last month to play Kyrandia 1 on my old XP and tried to tweak it, but, I couldn’t get it working. I love these games, and I love GOG, so, thanks for posting this.  I think I will even try that witcher/witchen? game that was for free with it.
