Greymarsh - adventure, RPG, visual novel… I honestly don’t know

Hi,

I made a text-based adventure game/RPG/visual novel, that is out on Steam:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/2367690/Greymarsh/

Anyway, I honestly don’t know how to categorize it. The “playable books” in the eighties and nineties - Lone Wolf, Fighting Fantasy and others - those are my inspiration.

I’d like to get some recommendations on good “Choose your own adventure” kind of games. These are unfairly derided, I think, and misunderstood. The challenge when making this kind of game is to get as much complexity (story-wise and puzzle-wise) as possible, given the limited means at your disposal: a turn based system with 1-4 options for the player to choose from at every turn, and some basic inventory management too.

I’d love to hear some thoughts on this.

Best regards,
Nikolaj

I still play text adventures from time to time but I’m not a fan of RPG, so I won’t play your game. Sorry. But I checked it out and it looks great: illustrations, writing, atmosphere - all good. I hope it will attract lots of players.
