Long shot, but it kinda reminds me the two demons from Simon….
YEEEEESSSSSS! 
It’s the demons! I didn’t thought it would be guessed so quick , so good job! 
The demons (well, one of them…the other only repeats the first one…) mention to Simon that they can’t leave, and need a wizard to send them back to the pit. Also, they say to Simon that they’re bodyguards, jailers, gardeners, cleaners and chefs in Sordid’s tower, but they’re on strike. Simon needs their help with the teleporter(device) and they need Simon to send them back .
In the second game we can’t see that didn’t go so well…

I can think of two who would fit, the narrators from Portal and The Stanley Parable. Hmm, but since Portal’s voice has a name I’ll go with the other.
Not those. The Stanley Parable narrator does fit in a way but the one I’m thinking is from a more classic adventure and not a narrator.
