I had to resort to a walkthrough.

Hey, you could ask for help here. Subtle hints by someone who recently played the game are much better than a walkthrough.

Where did you get stuck?

Yes, that would be great!

I was stuck when I couldn’t figure out how to turn the Kaiser’s name into a search query.

After that I went to church, looking for phrases in Latin. I found one text, on a pillar(?) and I went back to the Lyceum’s library to try and figure out if I can come with anything to spell out for the librarian. No dice.

I’m going back to the church now to see what I missed. Subtle hints would be appreciated!

I did this riddle following a walkthrough. But if i was gonna solve this on my own the best tip would be not to limit my search to one place or church. In general this one takes a lot of exploring to locate the phrases. Which is also my complain about the game. You are left alone to search around without guidance. But i guess if you are patient and have time you could go around and check everything.

But aren’t you talking about a different riddle than Vegetable Party? The one you talk about was indeed unfair since it for the first time in the game was required of the player to venture far from the “map spots”. And it was harder finding some of those Latin phrases than a needle in a haystack. Had to use a hint system for that. But I think Vegetable Party means another riddle and contrary to your advice all answers to that can be find at the same location, non?

Edit: Sorry. My bad. I misread Vegetable Party’s post…

Bear in mind that you can move your pointer not only left and right.

Speaking of Latin texts I registered all of the required ones in the first two days of the game (save one, because you can’t see it with bare eyes), so when I encountered the 3rd book puzzle I didn’t have to do any footwork at all.

One has to look EVERYWHERE.

Got it, thanks! I’m on my way “collecting” missing letters.

I quite like this puzzle. I also figured out what I missed in the search for the German Emperor.

Very curious about what comes next.

The same like up to the point you reached: pain, frustration and suffering (only more of it). Crazy

P.S. Am I the only one who notices the absence of our game master? What ever happened to him?
I miss his comments.

I’m looking a machine with keys. My first thought was the typewriter in Gardonyi’s house, but I guess it’s not.

Didn’t the piano cross your mind? I mean, the young violin player is talking about music, Schubert, durs/majors and molls/minors, quartsexts…
You don’t play those on a typewriter.

Just kidding. Innocent

Read my last spoiler by all means!!!

Jonathan worded it so specifically (as did the dialogue option: A machine with keys and buttons).

I made a list of things I still needed to check out at this shrine/museum, but I lost it (that’s been happening a lot lately). I know it had thestatue in the garden and I used that for a puzzle already. I know I used the brochure (day 1?) but I don’t remember if the marked paintings were part of a puzzle or not.

I’m going to wander around for a while. In game, then out of game, to see what I can come up with.

I forgot about those! On it.

edit: still figuring this out. I have to be thankful this game took notes, now that I’ve lost mine. They’re pretty good, actually.

Wow, I made a lot of progress! And an appointment, for a date!

second edit: .. Gasp
