Thanks for the ideas guys. Think I’ve found some good ones now!
Games I’m looking at:
Dark Eye: Chains of Satinav
Sanitarium
Cognition: An Erica Reed
Lost Horizon
Gabriel Knight series
Overclocked: A History of Violence
Still Life 2
Black Mirror series
I’ve played through Discworld Noir and some of the others mentioned too.
I tried to play Grim Fandango years ago, but the controls are awful. However, since then I’ve got a gamepad and it seems much better with that
I’ve played through Dreamfall and liked it, I do need to go back play the original mind…

I’ve tried playing the Black Mirror 1 and I did enjoy what I played, but for some reason it kept finding a virus and caused issues with my computer (blue screen) so it had to go. As for Sierra and LucasArts. Well…the thing is, I’m not actually a big fan of all they’re stuff. Some of it just doesn’t click with me (I don’t seem to like Monkey Island for example), and others have illogical puzzles which I just loathe lol. A badly made puzzle takes me straight out of a game.
I like these guys more for story then anything. I’ve heard some people say the Black Mirror has a really good story, that’s why I really wanted to play them.
Recently completed: Game of Thrones (decent), Tales from the borderlands (great!), Life is Strange (great!), Stasis (good), Annas Quest (great!); Broken Age (poor)
If you pick up Sanitarium, I’ll let you know of a couple easter eggs that were put in the game. Though I’m surprised they’re selling it for 10$ on gog, considering it’s about 15 years old now, and I’m not sure how xs games has the rights to it. Last I checked they still have the ASC logo coming up when you boot the game.

Okay. Think I’m about ready to give up on Grim Fandango. I love the art style and setting, but its full of weird puzzles that require sheer luck more then logic.
Quite surprised really. The game seems to be held with such high regard…

Well like all games it is not perfect, and there are a few (especially one) puzzles, that has been criticized. But despite this it is still a great game with a brilliant story.
How long have you gotten in the game?
The reason i am asking is because it isn’t really before you get to Rubacava that it really shows its strengths.
You have to play the game, to find out why you are playing the game! - eXistenZ
I’m at his Casino. I’ve managed to blow up the cigarette case to get a key (which makes no sense), and the worker bee is in jail. After that, I’m lost.

What doesn’t make sense, the key being in the case or how to blow it up?

A bomb disposer is meant to disintegrate everything leaving nothing left. Yet somehow the key survived…
I’ve also got glottis gambling like crazy if that helps.
