Text Adventure Playthrough #2: Spider And Web
Oscar, do you agree now that it can’t be a plastic gun?
Do you think the scan-web needs power to work though?
Yes. Or there would be a buzzer/signal. But what I meant is, why hide a gun you can safely bring with you.

Is this part just shooting?
>shoot guards w
if dead
>shoot guards se
if dead
>w
>shoot guards west
(with the gun)
You fire again into the shadows, in the direction of the guards.
The footsteps to the west hesitate. You twist aside as shots crackle past you; they are trying to pin you down.
Another burst of shots from the southeast forces you against the wall.
>shoot guards southeast
(with the gun)
You snap off another shot, and see another guard crumple in the southeast corridor.
You here a sharp whisper from the west: “There!” Pulse-fire crackles towards you, and this time its aim is precise.
*** You have failed ***
Would you like to RESTART, RESTORE a saved game, UNDO your last move, or QUIT?
if dead
>w
Sorry, we can’t move when dead.
If we keep shooting west we don’t die?
Edit: I meant “wait”
Wait? OK. Strange tactics though, I must say.

You die.
A question - are you intent on slaughtering everyone in the complex?
You die.
A question - are you intent on slaughtering everyone in the complex?
Is that a trick question? Are you saying that is not the objective?
Well, how many adventure games have you played where it has been the objective?
You die.

No. Too many guards.

I was only kiddin, I don’t have any idea what to do except trying random combinations of going s first or whatever so I’m going to wait for Tim to come up with fresh ideas or Oscar is going to lose patience

Exactly!
I think we entered with a gun, noticed the scan-web at the red dotted line, decided to stash the gun until we could disable the power and then get the gun again to continue.
When some guards almost caught us near the wiring closet, we had to take cover, but left the lockpick. Then the key transmitter turned out to be jammed, so we couldn’t detonate the blast tab, and we didn’t have the lockpick to do it manually. The lab door is probably resistant to the acid pack, so we decided to rig the interrogation chair and get captured to get the lockpick back.
And now we’re continuing with the original plan, with the exception that the guards are now on alert.
It’s my best “connect-the-dots” explanation.
Karlok, will there be some exposition later on, or not?

I’d just focus on the group in the southeast until they’re all down, and then open their metal door to get to the lab. Hopefully that’ll delay the guards from the west long enough to get to the lab.
Since the interrogator kinda admitted that the lab contains a teleporter (which is probably our main objective anyway), we don’t need an exit strategy, we just need to get the tech to work.

Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka

IMO it’s a good one.

Nope. We’re supposed to connect the dots ourselves. Wouldn’t want it any other way.

The thing is that it seems after starting to shoot the se group the first time the west group shows out of nowhere and we can’t shoot se again
Then we CHARGE se instead. Gung ho.
