I’ll vote for AVS, as I’m planning on replaying it in the near future anyway (and this time around I’ll have the time to participate, I was just too busy during the Callahans playthrough Frown )

Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.

Just to clarify, it’s not millennia as in 1000 years but Millenia as
I don’t really know why the small first letter, it was years ago.

I voted for Obsidian but didn’t think it would take this long to decide.  I may not have as much time as I did, so change my vote to conditional please.

I hope Obsidian is chosen.

1. I think I have it installed properly.
2. Positive I never finished it.

Yep, love it. But I’m not sure where my copy of it is Frown. I played it first time on my friend’s Dreamcast, daumn it was beautiful. Later on bought it for my PS2 and still liked it but it wasn’t as pretty.

And I don’t really mind if someone misspells my nick, just felt like pointing out the lack of typo on my part.

I’d love to play Obsidian but last time when we almost voted it through we concluded you couldn’t get it working on Windows 7 without a virtual PC running an earlier Windows.

Virtual PC was the only way I could make Obsidian run on my Win 7, 32-bit system. But other people might have more success with their Win 7 configurations (see below). Also those still running Win XP (hey, your support is expiring! Grin) will have a much easier time. In any case, I don’t think that VPC is that hard to set up or use really. No harder than using DOSBox IMHO.

Er… There’s a(n?) Obsidian DOSBox installer.

This is Collector’s (of the Sierra Help pages fame) Win 7 installer. It didn’t work for me (or Oscar) but it has clearly worked for him. Those interested should check out this thread in the old forum for some more installation support - e.g. a QuickTime fix. (By the way, Obsidian is Windows-only so no DOSBox here.)

Except you can’t run Virtual PC on Windows 7 Home editions, which is a problem for me.

The Dosbox installer didn’t work for me either so I’m out of options.

Not exactly. The current version of VPC should work perfectly fine with Win 7 Home. It’s just that it doesn’t come with the preconfigured Win XP Pro mode that Win 7 Pro/E/U come with. See footnote I here. Of course, this means that you would need a XP license and its installation files.

By the way, the old version of VPC - VPC 2007, while unsupported, runs perfectly fine on my Windows 7 machine. I recommend it for emulating Win 9x and hence Obsidian.

(Still, no DOSBox BTW.)

So either way I still need a copy of Windows XP? No go I’m afraid.

Yeah, unfortunately. That’s perfectly fair, of course.

I think I installed VirtualBox for the first Carol Reed games and it wasn’t so horrible to set up. A little bit horrible perhaps Wink.

All these games should just be available in GOG.

Strong Battle between AVS (11 votes) and Obsidian (10 votes - one is a conditional one). Discworld follows with 7 votes. Anything can happen!! Whoever hasn’t voted yet (shame on you!), you have 3 more days to do so. This is your last chance of voting!!

EDIT: Since AVS is that popular, I changed my status there to “leader” from “possible leader”.
