i think the fact that they did the re1 remake so well has resonated. So I expect more of the same good things with re2.

A new backing platform with investment twists.
Something that came out of gamescom but seems to have gotten snowed under: Paradox development studio, the people behind grand strategy game series like Crusader Kings and Europa Universalis, are taking a shot at the Space 4X genre with Stellaris. Once borders start touching after the initial exploration and expansion phase, the game will have an advanced diplomatic system with a similar feel to EUIV, as well as the option to go from an ordinary alliance to a space federation. There will also be a focus on emergent narrative event chains and the importance of individual characters. (For instance, the personality of your lead scientist has an effect on what you will be able to research.)

Pretty hyped about this one. The diplomacy in particular seems like something the genre needs, plus after being disappointed with Endless Space and StarDrive I like seeing someone with Paradox’s experience and manpower take this on.

What a surprise. Devil’s Third for the WiiU is getting destroyed by the reviews…
At least the rest of the WiiU line-up for Fall looks solid with Mario Maker, Starfox, Xenosaga, Project Zero.
Mario will get praised to the high heavens as usual, Starfox…yeah. I can see that being a flop with the what they’re forcing players to do.

Cliff Bleszinkis new game announcement
Law Breakers. A gravity based free to play FPS. It’s a five-on-five multiplayer PC game where law enforcement squares off against criminals, and Bleszinski says that the three main pillars of the game are “gangs, guns, and gravity.” The game will have a major focus on characters, and half of the playable cast will be female.
Gameplay trailer due this Friday.
Link above is also the new Youtube Gaming site designed to compete with Twitch (It launched today)
An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.
