Danganronpa V3: Killing Harmony
Trial 2 complete.
Outcome more predictable but a fun case. I agree that the Monokubs are less annoying now, in fact some parts were pretty funny like their interference with the trial or the maybe fake messing up the the distribution of “motivation” videos . It does feel like sometimes there’s no real reason for some characters to withhold information except for convenience of the game to pad the trial.
Kukichi is a good character completely umpredictable.
The maid being the prime-minister was a nice outrageous surprise and the “make Japan great again” translation LOL
the mini-games are getting out of hand - Psyque Taxi, Mind Mines?!?
I do like the ability to lie in non-stop debate, it’s a good twist
definitely agreed kokichi is a great character. Borderline obnoxious and dizzying, but he just keeps you guessing on his motives over and over. He is the best source of comic relief in the game so far.
Im in the 4th chapter now and it has been an all around enjoyable game, roughly on par with the first.

I want you to guess the ending or main twist and post it here, just an educated guess before you play final act or get close to it
Will be good fun to see if you are close
Is Danganronpa V3 a worthy sequel in terms of story?

Closer to the end might try but right now, no idea…

So far so good

It’s my favorite of the series, although I think many say the first is the best. To me, #3 had the best cast, and I like how the developers were still able to exceed my expectations and surprise me even the third time around.
Oddly enough, the ending was the one thing I liked the least.
“Drinking rum before 10 a.m. makes you a pirate, not an alcoholic!”
I’ve heard some murmurs that the ending isn’t as satisfying this time around.
I’m currently on the Free Time component for the fourth chapter. Here is where I think it may be going:
The game has been flashing back to Shuichi stating he wants to die and being locked into some machine. I wonder if this whole killing game is an intense hope-training simulation set up by the protags of the first 2 games to prepare Shuichi to do battle against Ultimate Despair armies.
Alternatively, the game has also been flashing to some mausoleum memorial thing with all the students and the academy has been referred to as a place for ‘Juveniles’. I wonder if this is some sort of Black Mirror type of prison for the most despairing Ultimates or (series spoiler) Junko loyalists.
Nonetheless, I’m enjoying this very much and hope Maki sticks around long enough so I can unlock all the Friendship Fragments.
I’ve just finished the story and have to say the same thing I said after completing Danganronpa 1 and 2.
I did not see that coming but where on Earth can they go from here?
I suppose that’s the difference between the fan and the creator. The fan can only imagine something fitting into a formula because his only frame of reference is what’s come before. The creator takes the liberties that a fan could not imagine because they know if the characters are interesting enough and the stakes are high enough we’d follow them into any screwball scenario. The audacity of it all is really impressive even if the dialogue could be a lot more terse.
My player stats summary - while a strong cast of characters, I did not feel anyone dethroned Nagito Komaeda as best character who did nothing wrong. The class trials also seemed a little more predictable than the last outing but chapter 5 is a worthy stand out.
Favourite girl: Himiko Yumeno
Favourite guy: M-O-N-O-D-A-M
So now someone has finished, still waiting for wilco and others
My take was this before finale
In DR1 my guess was typical Manhunt or other animes scenario, where its all game watched by elites, some hollywood movies also copied that, sport/tortured porn/court battles reality show, it came full circle in Dr3 and i was half right, the twist of android as participants public outside and one agent of organizers in battles as well as V3 as number 53 of an event was great wtf moment
As to where it can go from here
if its V3 we can go to other DR events in past, it wasnt the first one
Nope, still at the beginning of the third trial.
Was not expecting 2 deaths!
Kokichi fake death at the end of the investigation phase got me lol
Got full relationship connection with Miu Iruma, funny dialogues but was a bit disappointed it’s all very superficial, was hoping for some more backstory.
Maki became best side character with the Ultimate Assassin revelation.
^that kokichi scene is probably my favorite moment in the game so far.
As for the free time segments, iv actually found them all to be particularly bland in this game. Iv just gone through tsumugis and they were borderline painful and boring. Still enjoying the game as a whole. In chapter 5 now, this has taken a while.

How about…
DR VR: VirtualRonpa. You are the 16th student and have to avoid getting killed during Free Time.
Trial 3 complete
The culprit, like Kokichi said near at the end So boring, it was obvious. However the motivation for the murders, I was not expecting…
No new clues where this is going, on to the next one
agreed, but as i think it was their intention for that chapter: having there be 2 murders was designed to throw us for a loop. I spent a good % of that trial pretty sure there would be 2 murderers. So while it became painfully obvious only he couldv done the 2nd murder, for a bit i thought maybe he didnt do both.

There was a partafter findinh out who killed Tenko and we are in that aplit debate to continue the trial I also thought there was going to be a seconnd killer and Korekyo was going to get away with the second murder. That’s why the Kokichi comment was even funnier.
Also was not expecting Monodam’s suicide at the end, thought he was just going to kill one of the others like before. The kubs banter and dynamics did get fun like was said before.
