When you use the stock market as an argument not once but three times without any sort of escalation, yea, it seemed like you were actually serious. I played it off as a joke the first time, really.

But maybe it's not my sense of my humor, but your poor joke, that's the problem?

your observational skills are obviously poor aswell, i didn't use the stock market to argue three times i referred to the stock market twice in conjunction to my first comment which i posted to see what it was that people would say. when i say a 'joke' i mean something that i didn't necessarily feel was the truth but something of which i intended to provoke a reaction. i was curiuous to see what people would say to that. don't get your knickers in a twist little man.

Stop hurling lame insults, then.

Fact of the matter is you said it once, I played it off but you said it again which made me think you were actually trying to prove a point because you responded to my lighthearted comment in such a way. So I made a real response to that and then you said it again and thus made a real response to that as well. Each time I thought I was polite in dismissing your "argument." There really isn't any reason to try cutting me down. Just a misunderstanding...

Guys, let's not get into flaming semantics here If you want to discuss Steam and DRM, then discuss Steam and DRM, not who said what etc.

it's true, the great depression began when people realised that all the twinkies were the only thing that survived that horrible disaster.

Only a week to go!

The new teaser trailers are available on Steam, they focus on Alyx Vance, wonder if the game will ba like that.

Anyway, my pre-load is complete.

Episode 2 will come this year (yeah, right it's valve we are talking about... probably next year). And the final episode 3 in xmas 2007 (read probably 2008).

Wow, I had no idea it was already coming out. I'm not sure if I want to buy the hard copy or download it.

Preloaded and ready to go. I have a small feeling I'll be calling in sick on Thursday

I just checked the Black Mesa Source link above, and it's good to see a recent (ish) update suggesting they're still pushing ahead with it. I hadn't heard any news for months and thought they might've ground to a halt.

Thanks to the current exchange rate, I've "bought" Episode 1 for the princely sum of about 50p.

Well, £11.59 really.

I say "bought", because I don't actually have a computer to run it on yet. Whoops.

And Karmillo, don't worry about missing out on Half-Life Source. Picture a game that looks and feels exactly like the original, except it's ostensibly running in the Source engine. Barney had gained a reflective hat I think, possibly. What a rip. Valve should be giving Episode 1 away for free as an apology.

I've seen the trailers - I hope they put something more new in it than just lots of Alyx killing things.

Agreed. Reflective water and some improved lighting does not a worthwhile extra make.

Anyone knows at what time the game is released?

Also, first review (9/10):

http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=65249

Edit: Forget it... Just noted the countdown in the official site... 20 minutes

So did anyone get it? Is it the same Source engine as HL2 or is it an improved version?
