Hey, how do you like the e2c buds? I've been considering them (and yes, that's a nice splurge).

I didn't order all four of them at once because I first want to see how I like the first one. My fan in Switzerland is very enthousiastic about Otherland. She recommended it wholeheartedly, and she should know my taste in literature by now, so I guess I'll like it.

I haven't owned a digital camera in years and I finally got one.

It's a Fujifilm FinePix F650. I know there are newer models but it's 6MP with a 3 inch LCD screen and 5X optical zoom all for only $99. I think I got a good deal.

And speaking of cameras, yesterday I ordered a Canon EOS 400D:

I have been saving money a long time for this, and FINALLY I can afford it!

Egads! Sucked it in and went for the big splurge... a new PC.

Lots of goodies in it, but the basics are as follows:

MSI K9N motherboard,
1GB of RAM
nVidia Geforce 8800 GTS 320 card

I installed Oblivion, which is now such a vast improvement over our older system that I feel as if we have to play the game all over again from the beginning because we cheated ourselves by playing it before with reduced graphical settings.

I have a big SLR (Nikon DSLR D200) with lots of lenses, but today finally replaced my previously stolen compact camera with a Nikon P5000. I also picked up the SB400 flash (the P5000 has a flash shoe). RAWK!

I bought a copy of Apocalypse Now: The Complete Dossier from America the other day (it hasn't had a UK release, as far as I'm aware). Not really much of an expensive purchase, though.

I did buy an organ the other week, though...

Been so long since I could *afford* to splurge, I'd forgotten what it felt like...

But I recently bought the current four issues of the "The Dark Tower: The Gunslinger Born" comic series.

I don't ordinarily buy comics on account of my reading speed being far too quick, but... I like the art for these, and I love Peter David's style, so I couldn't resist.

Peace & Luv, Liz

I found the best gift for Mr J this weekend in a store where not yet established designers and other creative people get to display and sell their products.
A doormat with three words on it: mobile, keys, wallet.

I so hope it will help him in the morning.

That is so sweet! Or mean, whichever way you choose to look at it
In any case, it's a marvellous idea Jelena!

I just realized that I get my 'vacation money' this month. Any ideas of what to burn it on? It's about a month's salary, and I'm happy with what I earn

Well, after a weekend in wonderful Copenhagen and cosy Malmö I recommend those two places only a 30 minutes train ride apart. It's well worth a visit!

I just invested in the kit to brew my own beer. Hopefully the brew now sitting in the cupboard over my boiler won't decide to splurge unexpectedly itself.

Arguably this will save money in the long run though so it may not count as a splurge.
