Jaz, I totally sympathise. Here in Canadia, I can't find proper brassieres in my size without going to a rather expensive specialty boutique or visiting the States. And don't get me started on the Philippines, where they don't sell anything larger than a B cup...

Are bras really necessary? Also, can they be improvised?

If you are a busty woman they are. You dont wont you boobies in your lap..... the back pain is terriable. As far as improvise...... I'm sure you could if you are smaller size.

To Squinky and Jaz -

I on the other hand have another problem..... my chest has always been very large and I have to order my bras b/c Lane Bryant doesn't carry my size in the store.

I'd swap lives in a heartbeat.
Thanks to my medication I have been feeling pain in my knees for more than 3 months now. And depending on the weather I feel very COLD every afternoon and evening. I haven't been able to do much useful stuff at my job since two weeks after I started working there. The past three days were terrible. I am very afraid that I won't be able to join for Amsterdam next month .

The good news is that I didn't have to convince the doctor that I've suffered enough, and we're working towards a solution. Hopefully we will find one soon.

I just got a promotion. But was it a pat on the back, "good job specksie"? No, it was a "got'a advance you so HR quits complaining that you haven't promo'ed lately".

"Thanks".

Forget the fact that my customers love me and my value to the business is large, I have to dance through HR hoops to get to the next level.

And then, it's "welcome to the next plane of Hades".Oh, the corporate life... FML

At least you have a job.

And tsa, get well soon. rlpw is wise, count your blessings and be happy for what you have, you're in a good place overall.

I've been hearing that for the past 41 years. There aren't many blessings to count if you feel like a 100 year old man every day but still have to go to work and keep the house in order all by yourself.

Tsa, our thoughts are with you. One day, like me, you may see that there are two sides of that coin re: people depending on you, and once side is good (relatively).

I survived a horrible, life threatening disease when I was younger, got my heart magnificently broken twice, contemplated suicide and eventually went on anti-depressant medication, got laid off jobs at least three times, watched my beautiful cat die on me when he was just five, buried my dad, and now am looking after my 83 year old mom who I had to take to the emergency room twice, and know that I will be there when she also dies, and I had to give up a robust social life and the possibility of having a relationship with someone while I take care of my mom.

And yet I have a lot of reasons to be happy and many friends and family members to give me support. And I'm a little older than you.

I didn't get this far in my life to feel such hopelessness. And I don't think you'll be the same way. It only feels hopeless when you're in the hole looking up. But up is the only direction you can go.

Of course you are right Trep, but you must have had days like I have now in which you just want to wallow in your misery and tell everyone how miserable you are? I needed kind words and attention when I posted the "My life sucks" post, and luckily I can always count on you guys for that.

I'm so sorry you are in so much pain at the moment, tsa. Is it really so bad that you may miss the AGers gathering? The very idea of Jelena carrying you everywhere already gives me the chuckles!

Aww, tsa and Trep...*huggles*

I'm sorry you are in so much pain, tsa, but I understand where you just want some self pity, even though your life isn't the worst it can be. I've got a skeleton in my closet, so to speak, that I'm not going to mention here (because I am trying to steer away from needing pity from others), which makes me feel horrible, and yet I know I have a pretty good life. But everyone needs some sympathy once in awhile. *hugs*

And I'm sorry Trep, especially since you contemplated suicide, meaning you must have thought your life was pretty bad. I'll just say that I too thought of it. *hugges all around*
