Beyond the Edge of Owlsgard now available
Beyond the Edge of Owlsgard, the retro-inspired point-and-click adventure game, is now available. Developed by solo developer Hans Klöpfel, Beyond the Edge of Owlsgard takes players on a journey through the animal kingdom of Velehill, where strange shadows and mysterious disappearances have occurred. Join Finn, a young roebuck, and his friend Gwen the owl as they set out to uncover the dark secret behind these occurrences.
As Finn and Gwen journey through the mysterious lands of Velehill, they encounter all kinds of dangers and obstacles. They must use their wits and resourcefulness to solve inventory-based puzzles and overcome challenges. Along the way, they meet a cast of interesting and quirky characters, each with their own unique stories and motivations.
As they delve deeper into the mystery of the disappearing animals and the strange shadows, Finn and Gwen begin to uncover a sinister plot that threatens the very fabric of their world. They must race against time to stop the perpetrators and save the animal kingdom from certain doom.
But the road to victory is fraught with danger, and Finn and Gwen soon find themselves in over their heads. Can they outsmart the forces arrayed against them and emerge victorious, or will they succumb to the darkness? The fate of Velehill hangs in the balance as Finn and Gwen embark on an epic adventure beyond the edge of Owlsgard.
The game features hand-drawn landscapes, cinematic cutscenes, and an atmospheric soundtrack inspired by classic midi music. Players can expect a variety of frame-by-frame animations, close-ups, and animated cutscenes as they explore mysterious lands, uncover secrets and deal with dangerous situations. Beyond the Edge of Owlsgard even allows players to die in all kinds of crazy ways - a throwback to Sierra games like King's Quest.
Beyond the Edge of Owlsgard is available on Steam and GOG, and can be played on Windows and Linux. It is also available in both German and English, with the possibility of additional translations after release. The game is estimated to have 6 to 8 hours of gameplay.
