Ken and Roberta Williams Unveil Colossal Cave’s Future Plans

Sierra On-Line founders Ken and Roberta Williams, famous for developing classic games such as King’s Quest and Space Quest, have unveiled their plans for Colossal Cave in 2023 and beyond, as well as a new trailer for the game. Colossal Cave, the ultimate 3D interpretation of the original text adventure game, was launched on January 19th, 2023, and has received multiple patches since then based on feedback from the community.

In 2023, Cygnus Entertainment plans to continue supporting the game with new ports to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One in March, as well as several development updates focused on improving quality of life and fixing small bugs throughout the year. The game will also be coming to PSVR 2, Pico VR, Steam VR, and PlayStation 4 soon.

As part of their community-focused efforts, Ken and Roberta Williams plan to give back to the community with giveaways and a company culture of direct developer-to-player communication. They will also attend events such as Too Many Games, the longest-running video and board game convention, from June 23rd-25th, 2023, and will delve into the inner workings of Colossal Cave to give players a full sense of what the game is all about.

Colossal Cave takes players on a breathtaking adventure through a fantasy realm filled with magical beings and endless possibilities. The game features complex puzzles throughout underground labyrinths glittering with gold and gems. It allows players to collect priceless treasures and mystical items before returning home at the end of an unforgettable journey.

The game is available on all major platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Meta Quest 2, as well as Windows PC and Mac via Steam and The Epic Games Store, and supports multiple languages, including English, Japanese, German, Portuguese, Spanish, and Chinese.
