The Cross Formula enters the mix with downloadable release
KatGames is a familiar name to casual adventurers for its popular Dream Chronicles series, but with today's release of The Cross Formula, it's clear the indie Spanish developer is going for a much different focus and look.
The Cross Formula stars a man who no longer remembers his identity, but as he follows the clues left behind by someone who does, he soon learns that he is the prime suspect in the murder of a professor who was studying subliminal imagery. In order to recover his lost memories, he'll need to retrace his steps "from a gritty motel to an old diner, the trailer of a UFO fanatic, and a secret military base, all set against a backdrop of lonely desert roads."
Unlike the developer's photorealistic, puzzle-centric fantasy games to date, The Cross Formula is referred to by KatGames as a "story adventure game" with a "film noir tone and mood", its gritty atmosphere and setting rendered in distinctive hand-drawn graphics.
The Cross Formula is currently available for download exclusively at Big Fish Games for $9.99 (or $6.99 for club members), with a sample demo available.
