J.U.L.I.A. gets a date in UK

J.U.L.I.A.'s got a date! But it may take her a little while longer than expected to get ready for it, as Lace Mamba Global announced today that the creative sci-fi adventure will be published in the UK early next year.

The product of two-man Czech studio CBE, J.U.L.I.A. is a unique puzzle- and exploration-driven adventure that follows the story of Rachel Manners, a 35 year old astrobiologist who was part of a small team of scientists chosen to seek out extraterrestrial life. But Rachel is abruptly wakened from cryosleep to discover that she's the sole surviving member of her team, and that her probe is severely damaged, orbiting a planet in a distant solar system. With only the help of her two remaining companions, "J.U.L.I.A., the spaceship’s very temperamental artificial intelligence system, and Mobot, a huge reconnaissance robot, Rachel now has to solve the mysteries of the events on board the space vessel, repair it and explore the unknown planet."

Though players will "explore" six different worlds throughout the game, J.U.L.I.A. is certainly not your ordinary adventure. Often Rachel's (and the player's) only means of interaction is through the ship's console and remotely instructing Mobot from afar, solving a variety of logic-based puzzles along the way. While no firm release date has yet been set for J.U.L.I.A., the game is currently scheduled for launch in the UK and Ireland in the first quarter of 2012.
