if not by the gamers themselves then it’s by the publishers and distributors, many gems and old adventure had been lost between the process of going digital distribution and abandoning the hard copies releases.

no doubt there is a big list of those titles i can’t get my hands on these days….i might be mistaken about some but i will be happy if anyone could enlighten me…
those bunch of titles which i can recall right now:

Snatcher
KGB
Orion burger
Deja Vu
Nightlong: Union City Conspiracy
Total distortion
Policenauts

What is forgotten for you doesn’t necessarily mean it’s forgotten for me also.

I believe Advie is saying that these games are no longer for sale. Not that people forgot about them, just that you can’t go out/online and buy a new copy.

The Neverhood
Myst III: Exile
Myst IV: Revelation
Earthrise
007: James Bond - The Stealth Affair
Eric the Unready

And many, many more..

So hard to get some would say those wares are abandoned (cough cough) Smile

Anyway, Snatcher doesn’t have an english PC release, you need an emulator to play (Sega CD is best version I think).
Policenauts doesn’t have an official english release but there is a fan translation (also needs an emulator)

Rest are PC releases, so they should be out there somewhere in the vast internet.
KGB aka Conspiracy is a favorite of mine, really unjust review in this site

Edit:

Deja Vu

Just remembered Deja Vu is available on Steam

007: James Bond - The Stealth Affair

The (original) European version was called Operation Stealth and was a Bond parody rather than a licensed game. Turning it into a proper Bond game actually makes little sense story-wise.

The game is memorable for featuring what is probably the most obnoxious puzzle of all time.

Ah, Operation Stealth does ring a bell but that 007 title confused me. Although that puzzle doesn’t make me want to play it

Better than D,Myst combined, great fmv with realtime plot, solid voiceacting for the time,
surreal, mystical, artistic, killer ost, odd puzzles, multiple branches and endings.

Myst III is the first Myst game I played, great game. It’s a crying shame you can’t get it on GOG.
