A slightly better year than 2000. IMO. Smile

Other suggestions:
Arthur’s Knights 1 + 2
Bioscopia
Mystery of the Druids
Nancy Drew 4 + 5
Point of View
Versailles 1700
The Ward
The Watchmaker

Disclaimer: I consistently use the date of the English release.

I haven’t played a single 2001 AG. Frown

No vote for me this time.

Although I did play the first five minutes of Gilbert Goodmate before experiencing a crash and returning my friend’s copy. And Shadow of Memories is VERY high on my list of games to play, courtesy of Time Hollow.

But not as high on the list as The Last Express, right?  Innocent

Shadow of Memories got my vote.

No, not as high as The Last Express. It would be visible in my signature if it were that high…

Note to self: finish Area-X and get on with the backlog. Plenty of time in-between CPTs to do so…

Easily Myst 3: Exile for me. The game that actually got me interested in the Myst series because at this time my adventure game skills had improved enough to know what I was doing. I then went back and played Myst which I never got into when it was released because I didn’t have a CD player yet and when I did finally get one I had no idea what I was doing in the Myst world. After Exile I then went on to play the whole series and they all are in my top twenty games.

Second Place:
Dracula 2: The Last Sanctuary
Bioscopia

Honorable Mention:
Schizm
Mystery of the Druids
Cameron Files: Secrets of Lock Ness

Wow! In this year I played 15 out of 21 of the named games. I voted for Shadow of Memories!  Laughing

Tough choice.
I hesitated between Shadow of Memories, Myst III and Schizm. Finally, I chose Exile.

I remember 2001 was the year of Anachronox. Yes, it is a role-playing game but aimed at adventurers. Remove the few turn based combats, and you have an excellent adventure game.

Looking at the list, it’s a pretty good year, I thought it would be worse.

Cameron Files: Secrets of Lock Ness gets my vote. Wasn’t a great game, but I enjoyed it. (Except for the timed underwater puzzle.) If Exile had been my first Myst game, I would likely have voted for it. But, by the time it came out I was pretty tired of the Myst schtik.

Cyan outsourced Myst to Presto and they did a pretty good job, me thinks. Gets my vote.

I voted for Runaway but to be fair I only played that game and road to india that year.
Shadow of memories has been in my backlog forever but hard to get it…

I voted for Runaway although I am not a huge fan of it, but it is the only game I’ve played from the list with Gilbert Goodmate and that one is meh. I’ve never heard of Shadow of Memories before and it seems that people here seem to like it so I’ll give it a go.

Well, I voted Gilbert Goodmate, because I have better memories of that game than of Runaway 1, and I have no memories of Shadow of Memories Smile But seriously, bad year. If not for Anachronox…
