Adventure Game Scene of the Day - Thursday 10 September
Basically, the history of the adventure genre is:
1. Colossal Cave
2. Monkey Island
3. Myst
4. The Walking Dead
How about the first game to use FMV?
Anyway there are several games that have had an impact on the genre, and we can always discuss which are the most important, but that Colossal Cave Adventure was the very first is indisputable.

I thought that list was a joke, but apparently some are taking it seriously. 
I won’t. It’s like saying that “basically, the history of literature is the bible, Shakespeare, and Donald Duck.”
Or even: “basically, the history of mankind is Adam and Eve, George Washington, and Jack Allin”.
And thank God there are dozens of magnificent games not inspired by these four.
