I better hurry up and figure out what to do here before I’m burned alive in this scene from Murder in the Abbey (2008) (a.k.a. The Abbey), a game loosely based on the novel The Name of the Rose by Umberto Eco (which was also made into a film starring Sean Connery and Christian Slater). I found it to be a rather mediocre experience.

Didn’t know it was based in the The Name of the Rose. Is the killer the same?
It’s more inspired by than actually based on the novel, hence why I said “loosely based”. In fact, it’s influenced more by another adventure game based on the novel called La Abadia del Crimen. The setting, the characters (although their names are changed), the basic plot and the story’s themes are generally similar, but the details themselves are rather different.
I liked Murder in the Abbey! I found the voice actors very good, the music was excellent, the graphics were up to my style and the riddles/story were not that bad either. Very atmospheric and really underrated IMO.

PS: The board game rocks too.  Thumbs Up

I kind of liked Murder in the Abbey too. The voice acting and the artwork is great. There are some bad translations here and there (I don’t think the people translating the game knew the context of each sentence). The game is kinda light on puzzles, most of the gameplay consists of interrogating the monks in the abbey.

Anyway, it’s well worth a try, and it’s the best adventure availiable in English from the Spanish company Alchachofa Soft, who’s behind the Mortadelo y Filemon games and the awful Drascula - The Vampire Strikes Back.

Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.
