The Shapeshifting Detective is a unique game that provides a solid mystery with a creative twist on the usual means of information gathering. It is very creepy and actually very funny at times too. It is highly replayable due to the fact that you can get different endings each time you play.

It’s your job to find out what else they know – but they won’t reveal their dark secrets to just anyone. Luckily, you can be anyone you want to be. Even the next victim…”

The game is broken into chapters by time. You have until Tuesday, March 29th to make sure the game runs OK and reach:

As the game was cheap I thought I’d join in with this playthrough.

So far the game seems to run okay & I’ve reached the stopping point. It’s only just before that that there was any clue as to how the game was going to work but I’m intrigued.

I just wanted to ask about the few questions I came across that have a trash icon next to them? I saw that I could get rid of the question but why?.... ..... or is it best I discover it for myself?

Some dialogue options that may be riskier to try have a small trash can icon beside them. Hold the mouse button down over this icon and you can essentially choose not to ask that particular question or make that accusation, which is sometimes essential to your progress

Thanks for the warning, will remember to use headphones. Going to install the game now but will see which night I’ll be able to start.

I’m installed and ready to play the first part.

This will be my first time playing this game, and it’s also the first one of this developer that I’ll play.
I have played Contradiction, though, so I’ll recognize at least one actor.

The radio broadcast at the very beginning? I didn’t notice, as far as I got, subtitles for any of the radio broadcasts which you could turn on & off. Also if you turned on the radio I couldn’t make much sense of it so is turning the radio on the relevant thing rather than the content of the broadcast hence no need for subtitles? 

The radio broadcasts to me are just atmosphere for the game, gives it a creepy vibe to me. I’m playing the game with the radio turned on. I enjoy the strange little broadcasts.

Played for an hour today. Very interesting approach in mystery games. Acting is great.
The game gives a soft porn vibe to me that i cant deny that i like. I dont find it creepy so far but lets see how it goes.

Welcome aboard! You’ve changed how I look at the game. I wouldn’t have seen that unless it was pointed out to me.
