I think it’s the first time since 1938.

Come on Serbia, now knock Brazil out!

I like Brazil but this would be incredible, Germany Brazil out in the first round.
Tite seems to be trying that… Why is Firmino not playing again?

I am not a fan of Wilian with the national team and I have no idea why he doesn’t try to start with Firmino. They look much more dangerous when he is on the field.

If the nostrodamus of world history (i.e The Simpsons) is correct it’s going to be a Mexico vs Portugal final

Dream is dead. Mexico second place makes it they would meet in the semis   Mini Frown

I have no idea why he doesn’t try to start with Firmino. They look much more dangerous when he is on the field.

picking between Willian and Firmino is not an easy choice, especially that it demands a bit of change in the team strategy,  since Willian in more on the defending chores and Firmino is else-wise, also keeping in mind that team in full of midfielders with attacking style/spirit, Tite will eventually lean on the one with the defending chores, always keeping in his mind that Firmino is there in case of needing to be more attacking (or to score a goal).

but however, i feel for Firmino, since he was the Unknown-Soldier behind Liverpool’s last season bright performance, and now he has to accept sitting on the bench most of the time. it is NOT easy to feel less than the rest of the team with all this talent. Frown

Lol good one.

As far as Wilian, I see what you are saying, but him and Paulinho seem to lose the ball a lot in the midfield.

I think you are not being serious but a team with Diego Costa having sportsmanship? Mmm

I think it’s a matter of degrees these days, unfortunately.  Every team seems to have their fair share of… problem players.

I was being serious but not saying Spain = good sportsmanship, just that above all that’s what I want to see - good football and good sportsmanship.

It raises a fair question though - are there any teams that are not so “pragmatic” left in the competition?

Maybe I should switch allegiances to Belgium but I’ve already picked out my Enrique Iglesias avatar. Tongue
