I hope GOG releases so I would run it, I dying to replay it.

You no need dying, GOG releases already.

It could always be worse, remember that.

thanks Zobraks
no luck! .. what a waste !!!!!
16-17 months ago I started this thread, n’ all that time i never came across any chance to make Still Life work on Win8, even at GoG the requirements still and never changed from XP to Win7 ‘only’, BUT just by coincidence, it did happen; I mean I came across a patch for Vista (thanks for who ever made this magnificent effort!) which also works for Win8 and 8.1.
P.s: the patch in French, but it wont effect the game in any how. [tested]

I bought this game on Steam when I found out my copy wouldn’t install on Windows 8.1. It runs without a problem there.

Yeah, I only saw this thread yesterday when I was bored at work and surfing. I almost never look into this forum! Sorry! But I felt the same panic you did when I got a new computer and tried to install one of my very favorite games. Luckily, I got it on sale on Steam and was able to play, although I hate having to buy a game I already own twice. I just bought Outlaws again on GOG, too!

I just installed this on my Vista machine from the original game discs, and of course it doesn’t work, even in Compatibility Modes (I’ve tried them all). Does this patch download go directly into the game folders, or do I need to put it there myself. If I do, where does it go?
Life is too short to drink bad wine…
sorry Mike, i dont come here often, just saw your post..
i hope you managed, but this patch i only know it works for GoG version, and it goes directly to your C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Still Life, folder.
