grad and post grad from USC (other degrees I have are irrelevant…as is this one…but whatever!)
i love gaming, all science, natural history, learning as much as I can about evolutionary biology (its the closest we can probably get to knowing about different forms of complex alien life, right?) I love learning about all the prehistoric fauna and flora that developed, was wiped out, developed again, was wiped out again, and now we are here.
I think its my love for knowledge and my love for a fascinating story that got me hooked on adventure games….and also other games that have a good story attached to the game. When I started, Monkey Island really opened my eyes to the possibilities of lush environments I could explore, and conversations I could have while solving puzzles that, while absurd, followed a strange but consistent set of logical constraints given what is possible and impossible within the constraints of whatever world in which the game is taking place. So, many years later, I am still hooked!
I have played every adventure game i could get my hands on as a kid, and I looked everywhere, so im happy to say, I have a played a lot of great adventures…even during those sad times when it seemed like the genre was dead. But when indie gaming caught on, Adventure Gaming’s revival was a happy point for me.
And now I enjoy my recent hobby of playing adventure games that are under the radar and also games I have found on steam….I’m glad to say that I have a large amount of games on my “To Play” List, which means, I will always have a game ready to play for my small (but growing) subscriber base. I also have a discord channel, where some close friends I met online and I like talking daily and meeting up when I broadcast my livestream on YouTube every Wednesday and Sunday at 8 PM EST. But some of my favorite moments with our group have to be the spontaneous times we decide to do something like play a board game on tabletop simulator….or a jackbox party pack! its a lot of fun with people you have come to know…but I’m sure I don’t have to tell anyone here that!
I look forward to getting to know more people on the forums and have some interesting discussions!
