Adventure game scene… uh, game (continued)
What a beautiful screenshot, so serene and soothing
I can tell it is a noughties production, here is a wild guess; Undercover: Operation Wintersun?
Justice 4 Kris and Lisanne, will not be forgotten
Not Undercover: Operation Wintersun but you’re spot on with the decade luckyloser.
Here’s a less beautiful scene:
I think it’s Murder in the Abbey?
PC means personal computer
Sorry Doom, it’s not Murder in the Abbey.
Maybe this scene will help:
My “guess” is written in the window title of the screenshot that I took a while back.
Nope, the shade of (greenish) yellow just isn’t right.
It could always be worse, remember that.

Your “guess” is of course correct GateKeeper. Your turn!
OK, here we go:
Hint: if it looks old, it’s because it is.
Hah! That is definitely an oldie called The Detective. He investigates murders in the MacFungus mansion.

Yes, that’s what it is.
I was thinking that perhaps it’s not obvious to everyone, as it was never released on any other platforms than Commodore 64 (not counting that Nintendo DS remake). But it was very easy apparently.
I was actually thinking using another game first, and then I tried reversed image search with that, and it revealed the right answer immediately, but the reversed search didn’t show The Detective Game, so I chose that instead. I probably should have used that one game that I really wanted to use, but I can already hear “that’s not an adventure game” complaints with that, so…
Anyway, next screenshot, please.

It was easy for quiz lovers maniacs only, myself included; I believe Lady K (or Karlok?) posted the same screenshot in one of her quizzes.
Couldn’t have remembered the name of the game if my life depended on it though.

That must have been LadyKestrel, zobraks. Certainly not me, first time I’ve heard of this game.
PROM, NAPOL, PROM! - The Rise of the Golden Idol
I saved a few screenshots from it while browsing for quiz pics eons ago, but I don’t think I ever used any of them in a quiz. The silly mansion’s name stuck with me, but I’d have to look up the name of the detective.
Edit: He’s Inspector Snide of Scotland Yard, and the owner of the mansion is Angus MacFungus.
I’ll be back soon with a new screenshot.
