Not the first Simon the Sorcerer game (not any of the five Simon’s games, actually) and not Dark Seed (I or II) either.
I’m going to post another sound clip later today, but keep in mind that I already gave you a hint (though a rather obscure one).

Not Sherlock Holmes and the Serrated Scalpel, nor any of the other SH games.
This is proving to be tough…

Of course!
Here’s a 111 seconds medley containing three different music clips:

And if that isn’t enough, let’s add that this mysterious game has much in common (background and/or historical references) with one of the Gabriel Knight games, one of the Broken Sword games and the above mentioned The Last Crusade…
This should definitely give it away.

Time Gate?

Yes. I mean, no…
No, it’s not Time Gate. And yes, I forgot to mention it in the list of games that share similar historical references with the one you’re trying to guess (actually they were released almost at the same time, Time Gate just a few months earlier).

Igor: Objective Uikokahonia?
13 July 2013 07:07 PM #374
only cuz that i knew that Activision’s Mindshow didn’t have sound i would have sworn its the one you suggesting , for your hint to GK and 1983-1984 release i couldnt find a better match!!
surely that is not a guess but more like Sharing for the fun of it. the cover made me surprised comparing it to the beast within’s almost 10 years later.
anyways,
i give up !!

It’s not “Igor: Objective Uikokahonia” and the release date of the game is 1995-1996.
Final hints: it’s a first-person adventure with some elements of action and here is a clip with a very revealing speech by one of the NPCs…
