Games you should give a 2nd chance to
I think it’s all about what people look for in adventure games. For me, character interaction is a HUGE part of the draw to adventure games, so games like Syberia, Myst, or Professor Layton were pretty boring to me.
There is actually much more character interaction in Syberia then there appears to be at first glance. An important part of Syberia is a sense of isolation, and this feeling makes it fell like you are interacting far less with other character than you actually are.
But I agree, in the end it all depends on what you want from a game.

Care to expand upon Schizm 2. Schizm 1 is one of my favourite games, but I am so completely bored with Schizm 2 right now.

Exactly. I was bored with both of them. Which is why I should give them a second chance.
