What is your definition of an “Adventure Game”?
How to define anything is itself problem that logicians and philosophers can argue about their hearts out. Still i am trying to make few points. Sure, anything can fit under umbrella term ‘adventure game’ or be nontypical adventure game, but it just isn’t practical to call every game in world adventure game. About typical adventure game -it is still about exploration, puzzles and story. Question remains, if expression “adventure game” would be used mostly for some other kind of games in future, would it be same term or just same words used to express some completly new term?
A strongly written game that has you absorbed into its world and its characters. Most of the puzzles in this genre are pretty illogical or badly implemented so I can take or leave them.
Recently completed: Game of Thrones (decent), Tales from the borderlands (great!), Life is Strange (great!), Stasis (good), Annas Quest (great!); Broken Age (poor)
