Unable to receive your submission at this time
I was trying to submit a suggestion to one of the quiz-threads, and I keep getting this message: Unable to receive your submission at this time. Is this normal?
EDIT: Sorry, this is probably the wrong place to post this question Feel free to move to an appropriate place.
Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.
check it back (the thread) Dag you will find it submitted already ...do not mind this msg .
I just checked, and it’s not submitted, and when I try again, I’m still getting the same message.

*bump*
I’ve had this too a few times.
One work-around that helps is merely posting a single letter, and then editing your post after it got succesfully submitted.
Apparently, making a really short post (one letter) is enough to bypass the error…
Marek, any idea what could cause this?

I get that from time to time, usually when posting yes/no/right/wrong in game threads. I think the forum software has something against posts that are just a few characters long. Some sort a medieval spam protection, possibly? When that happens, I just add a handful of blank lines at the end of the post and that usually works. (I’ll try the one-character thing next time.)
Of course, it would help if those error messages actually said what the error is, instead of the current Orwellian bullshit. (Yup, I still hate that awful forum software.)
I still hate that awful forum software.
Who doesn’t?
We still can’t get a decent thumbnail mode for pictures here, for Christ’s sake.
It could always be worse, remember that.

For the 12 billionth time: it’s not a problem with thumbnails, it’s a problem with URLs that have spaces in them. Which does suck on the forums’ part, but is also a problem you could easily circumvent on your side.

For the umpteenth time:
If the very same URLs (with spaces in them) worked fine in the old forums (before 20th of May, 2012)/with old forum software and they don’t work now/with this new software - the million dollar question is whose fault it is.
BTW, I had NO problems to circumvent in the old forums.

I’m not saying it’s not a bug, or that the forum software doesn’t suck. It is and it does. What I’m saying is that you can spend 5 seconds creating a folder on your Photobucket account without spaces in its name, or you can spend 5 years waiting for the ExpressionEngine(*) people to fix their POS software. Your choice.
(*) Yeah, that’s how it’s spelt; clearly these people have something against spaces.

What I’m describing is the other way around: large walls of text (or even single sentences) that don’t get posted, but a single character that does…
