I think that what will probably happen is that none will be remastered

This is two questions in a poll posed as one.

The first is which, if any, Lucasarts adventures should be remastered.

The second is whether Double Fine should be in charge of the remastering.

The answer to the first question is I really don’t care.

The answer to the second question is why should Double Fine be charged with the task of remastering anything?

To answer the second question, they did a good job with Grim Fandango and Day of the Tentacle.

Way better than the abominations that were the Secret of Monkey Island remasters.

Maybe a lack of emphasis.

Why should THEY, i.e, Double Fine, be charged with remastering anything?

As opposed to any other competent design group?

Indiana Jones… Either one.

It would be more interesting to see how something like Zak McKracken or Maniac Mansion looked in the remaster, but I’d prefer a good excuse to replay an Indy game.

Why wouldn’t they be in charge of doing any possible remake/remaster? They’ve already proven themselves on that field and if they want to continue remastering old games, then why not?

They already have a relationship with Disney, that much is obvious and as they’ve done nothing that would cause Disney to second guess their work, I see no reason why Disney would feel a need to not give them any possible future remasters.

I heard that when Tim started Double Fine he brought over a bunch of ex-Lucasarts employees, is that true?

Yeah. A lot of the AG people at LucasArts started leaving when Grim Fandango tanked and LucasArts started abandoning the AG genre.

The broad strokes version is that most of the ex-LucasArts alumni wound up at Telltale Games, at Double Fine with Tim Schafer, or at Autumn Moon with Bill Tiller.

As for the poll, I voted for Fate of Atlantis. A game that awesome deserves a more up-to-date graphical version, imo.

Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka

They should make new games instead of living in the past.
