Clicking articles on the front page while using Chrome on my PC just redirects me back to the front page unless I’m signed into my account. It’s not a problem for me since I can just sign in, but if it’s happening across the board it would be a big issue for readers without forums accounts. I’m not having the same issue on mobile, though.

The redirect issue isn’t related to being logged in per se (or not strictly so), as it’s happened to me even when logged in. It’s not a widescale problem, apparently, which is why Ivo’s having a hard time reproducing (and therefore) fixing it. He is aware of it, though.

In the meantime, I hate to give the website equivalent of “update your drivers” suggestion, but clearing cookies should help.

I’ve been looking into this quite a lot, but have been unable to figure out what is causing this. I haven’t encountered it myself (yet) which makes it harder to debug, but will continue investigating.

Any news on why I show in the currently online list CaliMonk when I’m set to no show?

It’s happening to me when logged in as well now. Unfortunately clearing cookies didn’t do anything Meh

Could you tell me what you were doing when this happened? What pages were you navigating specifically? I’m starting to getting a better idea of what -might- be happening but the more data I receive the better

I was just attempting to access the newest review posted yesterday (Trying to get the URL to share, since I wrote it :-P). I tried a couple of the other articles linked on the main page just to see if they had the same problem and they did. I tried it in both normal and incognito modes on Chrome and no difference.

Hi!

I’m not sure if this has been reported by someone else, but when I click the latest review link (on the homepage or on the reviews index) it redirects me right back to the homepage. It has been happening on and of for the past few weeks if I’m not mistaken!

Heh, it’s so bizarre really.

Could you by any chance, next time you have it, do the following (in Chrome):
- View, Developer, Developer Tools
- Go to the “Network” tab and check “preserve log”
- Click in your normal browser window, keeping the Console log open and try and reproduce the behavior (where you get send to the main page)
- Once you do, in the Console log, click the download arrow (hover says, “Export HAR”).

Send me this file? Probably through Wetransfer.com, you can mail me at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)

This file would help me see the actual request being made and the response from the website to that request (and hopefully pinpoint to why this is happening, as it really shouldn’t).

I can’t rate games anymore: I choose “your rating” at the game’s page and click “submit” - no reaction; did the same at the review page - no reaction; moved to the “All reviews” page and did the same - got “The form you submitted contained the following errors .” (‘dot’ as a description for an error).

Apologies read over this, I’ll investigate what is causing this error

On the good news side I’ve not been logged out for nearly a week now so that seems fine.
On the bad news side anonymous login is definitely not working. Just checked via a different PC that I needed to update and I have never used for this site was clearly showing as logged in.

I’m afraid I don’t entirely understand what you mean with anonymous login?

There used to be the option for my user name not to be showing in the “currently online” list and, when activated, showed my name in the list when logged on (to me that is) with an asterisk against it but did not show to anyone else. I’ve just looked through the user options and that facility seems to h

ave vanished.

Not a deliberate decision to remove that, so will investigate

Zobraks pointed out that it was in the login section which, for some reason, I always forget about but, as I responded to him, I can uncheck that box and I still show on the “currently online” list. It’s not a big deal but I’m one of those private people that likes privacy Smile

An easier way to do this actually, is by installing this Chrome extension:
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/redirect-path/aomidfkchockcldhbkggjokdkkebmdll

When it does a redirect like what you described, it’ll log it and display it there (by lighting up). The “Copy to clipboard” should then directly provide the information I need

In order to edit my post in this thread (while logged in!) I had to fiddle with this:

Meh
I thought these captcha nuisances were used only on porn sites and for a moment I wondered which place I’m at.

P.S. Yes, I’m (only) a human! Grin
