So I was trying to wrap my brain around this whole story.

So if I have this straight, Seth the piano teacher killed Andrea’s daughter because he was a perv, but Domus saw him disposing of the body, so then began to blackmail him. But at the same time, Domus, who is Dudley Suchet’s son and adoptive brother of Andrea, obtained the last will of Andrew Suchet from Victor Hegler, the Nazi sympathizer who took it and hid it after the previous will disinherited Dudley. So Dudley commits suicide, his wife is schizophrenic and Domus is adopted by Andrea’s family, but Domus holds a grudge against his adoptive sister because he felt second-best, so uses the murder of her daughter (which Domus knows all about) to torment her. That’s the plot essentially?
What I don’t understand is why did Domus kill Veronica Hegler? Isn’t knowledge of a will that inherits you a benefit rather than a detriment? Is it because Hegler’s role as leader of the expedition had to be secret? Why would Domus care about that? Regardless, Domus clearly saw Veronica as a loose end that had to be silenced, I’m just a little confused as to why he thought that.

“Domus had several reasons to kill Veronica, one being that she was the only one who could have tried to set things straight when her father died (since he told her about her brother), but didn’t.”
