Meet the real Kate Walker
Yeah, they dub everything in France (). Out of the 100 or so voice actors that consistently get used (professional dubbers if you will), she’s about the most famous/recognizable in France.
Personally, I think they should just subtitle everything instead. I’d watch more French TV if they did. Same goes for Germany. And Spain. And Italy. And the States.

Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
That’s not the real one.
The real one is Sharon Mann who has done a bunch of adventure game voices (and other games).

An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.

I must say that Miss Françoise Cadol. looks exactly like what Kate looked like in the game. I wonder if we gave her a Kate Walker hair cut and put her into those tight clothes how she would look compared to the real Kate Carol Mann’s voice was perfect for Kate, not too young sounding and not too old. That and the script made me fall in love with her, and of course I also found it very attractive that she could stuff all those inventory items in her clothes and still maintain a perfect figure.
Thanks for the info Advie and the picture.

Since Microïds is a French company, and Benoît Sokal is a French-speaking Belgian, it might not even be a coincidence…

Wow, you may be right TimovieMan…hmmm..Since Benoit did the graphics, do you think he may have modeled Kate after her?

On the other hand, she’s a voice actress. People know her voice, not her face…

I thought maybe she would have been in Studio when reading with Benoits direction.

Yeah, but isn’t the voice acting rather late in the development of a game? You’d think they’d have the main character modeled LONG before that, no?

I couldn’t agree more. The further south in Europe you go, the more common dubbing becomes. Consequentially, the average level of English is substantially lowered.
Sadly, the dubbing trend seems to be slowly catching on here in Norway aswell. When I was a kid, every cartoon I watched, or every game I played (and even most books I read) was in English. Now every cartoon you watch before six in the afternoon tends to be dubbed to Norwegian, and the dubbing usually is quite horribly done aswell. Atleast, the only things we dub here are kids shows (atleast so far). In France and such, they dub anything they can get their hands on, they’ll even dub YOU if you’re not careful!
Duckman: Can you believe it? Five hundred bucks for a parking ticket?
Cornfed Pig: You parked in a handicapped zone.
Duckman: Who cares? Nobody parks there anyway, except for the people who are supposed to park there and, hell, I can outrun them anytime.
That reminds me of the Carol Reed games, where the voice of Carol is actually Stina’s real voice. Stina’s voice is spoken in by a different person.

I hope to meet her once so she can learn me that trick. She had a complete ladder in there IIRC!

That reminds me of the best moment of in-game “mocking the infinite jacket pocket”. In Larry 2, Larry put an extra large super size cup of soda (larger than himself) in his pocket like it was nothing…
