As stated in another thread somewhere here, I loved Firmament. Possibly Cyan’s best game since Riven. It had quite a few technical problems on release and there was a bit of negativity surrounding it because the use of AI to create some stuff in the game. May have hurt sales/reputation. Hope it did well enough for Cyan to continue creating these types of games (after remaking Riven).

That’s an interesting perspective, but it seems like only you and I have played the game.

My thoughts are that it is easily the worst Cyan game. I don’t really care about the AI thing, but the puzzles were so dull and easy that it just wasn’t great for me. Also the story ended up just being told not seen/experienced. Lots of monologue at the end of the game to explain away everything.

I guess between the two of us you get both extremes. That’s why I was interested in what everyone here thought. But that’s ok.

I’ve seen the last image quite a few times, but never played this game. Going through the AGS database revealed it’s Terror of the Vampire! !

It’s not a very long list actually, and I knew this game was highly regarded in the AGS community, I just couldn’t recall the name. It just doesn’t fit the cute art style.

Well done, Doom! I liked the game very much when I played it.
