Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Friday 5 October 2012
Today, here’s a scene from Coktel’s erotic thriller Fascination. I haven’t played it, so that’s pretty much all I have to say about it.
(The main character, Doralice (is that her in this scene?), returned in Lost in Time, but she kept her clothes on in that game.)
never heard of it , was it presented by Sierra?
I think it was before Sierra bought them.

Correct, it was when Cocktel Vision games were disturbed by Tomahawk.

It looks like your type of game Advie
(I might give it a try too! Automatons need love too)
hahaa, maybe its my Avatar you are talking about Oscar
Now, now, don’t be cheeky.
To be honest, I was unaware of Coktel’s lurid past in adult games although it does help to explain the company’s name (Okay, I’ll stop).
I have to also say the production values of this game are pretty good for a sex game from 1991 and it even made its way to CD-Rom! Still strange that Sierra would buy these guys out - I guess a third party developer’s reputation just didn’t matter as much back then?

Well, Sierra bought them in 1993. That was before Gobliiins 1 and 2, which should have easily demonstrated to Sierra their capacity for making great games, if Fascination did not already do so.
(I wonder about Sierra’s role in destroying the Goblins series shortly after the takeover, by removing the multi-character interplay in Goblins 3)
Fascination is a short but nice game, one of the mildly erotic games by Muriel Tramis. The game was censored in some countries (cd-rom version); the altered shots can be found at Game Nostalgia (and a recently uploaded mini-interview with the artist who “covered” the uncensored ones (Rachid Chebli). A longer interview in French can be found at the site “Alone in the Past?” (aitpast).
(P.S. Long time member of AG, but using a new screen name/avatar)
