Hey, I just like playing the games… Is it Alter Ego?
The real problem with reality is the lack of background music.
Knightette of the Order of the Caption
Music is what feelings sound like…
Nope, not Alter Ego either, the game in question is much older. (Hint: It was featured in Adventure Game Scene of the Day back in July.) One more clue:
The Wanderer? Or the Good Servant? (Google is your friend. )
Diabolus ex Machina since 1993

Uh, I’ve found it. Don’t want to guess it though since googling is not exactly a nice way of guessing.
I’ll let someone who actually played the game guess it.
Still interested in what 9 and 10 has to do with it. Part of a puzzle?
Everything you need to know about me has already been told.
Trunkyo? About the two characters who don’t see each other tip…do we actually see them together (in an intro cinematic for example?)? I refuse to google your last tip yet.
Both characters appear together in the final cutscene, where some of the game’s mysteries are explained (rather unsatisfactorily, in most people’s opinions ).
Diabolus ex Machina since 1993
Nobody else? Really?
To recap:
1) In this game, you have a “chants” to grind out a solution to open the way. (important words “chants” and “grind”)
2) Since nine is not enough, cooperation is necessary to obtain ten.
3) You play as two characters, but the fact that you can’t see each other shouldn’t “phase” you. (The two characters are able to see each other at the very end of the game.)
4) The Wanderer? Or the Good Servant?
Yet another clue:
Polish developer
Diabolus ex Machina since 1993
It sounds like Schizm, Trunk.
I don’t really rise and shine. I caffeinate and hope for the best.
Whew! Finally! You’re right again, Lady K. Schizm it is!
(I can explain the clues if anyone is still interested. )
Diabolus ex Machina since 1993
First clue:
Climb in the chimney,
Hands high, feet low.
Without this robe on,
Faster I would go.
I don’t really rise and shine. I caffeinate and hope for the best.
Hmm..Chimneys and robes. Discworld?
No, it’s not Discworld, Zifnab.
Second clue:
Knife’s too cold?
The seal will crack.
Too hot melts it!
Ack, ack, ACK!!!
(Insert hair-pulling smiley here.)
I don’t really rise and shine. I caffeinate and hope for the best.
Third clue:
When stuck in a puzzle
With no clue,
Just change to a different
Point of view.
I don’t really rise and shine. I caffeinate and hope for the best.
Fourth clue:
A church clock in Medieval times
Makes a priest do some awful crimes.
I don’t really rise and shine. I caffeinate and hope for the best.
Sounds Like The Abbey
