That’s sadly managed by our hosting provider, when they detect traffic they believe has a ‘chance’ of being automated they ask this to validate the ‘realness’ of the user. Once you complete that it shouldn’t ask you again for quite a while (and in general it shouldn’t happen often).

This is the first time on AG in 16 (and a half) years for me.

This is the first time on AG in 16 (and a half) years for me.

I had to prove I’m human more times than I can remember when I was leading the CP of the text adventure Counterfeit Monkey. Extremely annoying.

My problems with the site when I’m not logged in have gone from bad to worse. I now get many versions of the site’s history, each thread I click on seems to trigger a different version with for instance different people present in “currently online”. Which means I can’t read the most recent post(s) unless I’m logged in. And no, the site still doesn’t recognize me.

A couple of days ago I couldn’t see my own post (and a few more being posted after mine) in this thread when not logged in. It was a long post and I was scared that it was lost (it took me a lot of time to compose it - myriads of spoiler tags in it). Frown

It happens to other people (not only Karlok and me). For instance, Advie seems to not be able to read the latest post in this thread.

And now I can’t log in on my computer anymore. Frown  My iPhone is still okay.

Which browser do you use on your computer?

I use Chrome.

EDIT: I’m logged in on my computer now, without me doing anything. I guess one of my previous attempts hours ago finally worked. But even logged in I can’t see some of the most recent posts. This is getting really bad.

I noticed this happening yesterday for the first time as I also couldn’t see the latest posts without logging in.

I use Chrome.

I’m a Firefox man. Try cleaning cache and cookies.

I use Firefox also. I also am having the same problems as Karlok, chrissie and Zobraks. I have cleared my cookies and cache without improvement. Here is what I see in this thread if I’m not logged in (click on thumbnails for the “big picture”):

This issue crops up in other threads as well. As far as I know, this just recently started, at least for me anyway. I usually don’t log in, however, unless I have something to post.

So after posting #70 above, I logged out and went to the Site Feedback sub-forum. Again, not logged in, I see I am the latest to post in this thread. However, when I click on “last post” it still only shows up to reply #63:

...and after posting reply #71, I logged out and went to Forum Home and back to the Adventure sub-forum. This is what I see, clearly logged out:

It seems like Admins gonna ignore this report until it is backed by two or three more, just like last time.
come on, it’s no fun to have to log each time you want to make sure you have read all recent posts. this is urgent, really.

here is a demonstration for issue
