And now for something completely different.
In about a month from now I will have internet, TV and telephone via glass fiber! It’s now cheaper than cable, and I have more TV channels, faster internet (50 mbit/s up and down) and cheaper telephone. Woot!

Woot indeed! Grin

Can’t wait for that to reach us too Tongue I mean, they have glass fiber in Finland, of course, but not that common yet, I think. Or at least we don’t have it.

I’m hoping to find name for game that I played long ago
The people here so well-informed, someone is sure to know
A time machine, grandfather clock, I give it to myself
Oh never mind, the box is sitting there upon my shelf

For real retro gaming nerds, name that game.

I was in an area that was toying with fiber optics and was stopped by the Union workers refusing to put it in. Seems that it’s needs almost no upkeep and they were worries about them losing their jobs.

But… doesn’t cable and telephone also need almost no upkeep?

An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.

So you’d like to be in it yourself? Want me to check if we have had any people drop out?  Laughing

I came up with a great TV chef character today while cooking pasta and now I can’t remember how to do the voice.

Woe is me.

I’m watching Twin Peaks. It’s a strange show, but I kinda like it.

More than fiber but not much. You can run more info on 3cm of optics than 30cm of cable

Well, you should, concerning it’s by far th best TV show ever made. (Well, pure comedy shows excluded, it’s impossible to compare)

At least first season, and the end of second. I just had a lengthy PM discussion about Twin Peaks with someone here (you might know by their avatar who(m) I mean)

I was totally absorbed by Twin Peaks when it aired. It was so unlike anything you’ve ever seen before. My expectations on the ending were far too high to able to be met though. But the memories of following the show are still fond. SmileI wonder if it would feel dated if I was to see it again?

Wow, I think I’m one the few around here who actually watched the original broadcast of Twin Peaks on ABC. My old friend whom I haven’t heard from in ages since she moved away Cry used to get into long discussions with me after school about the plot and all the symbolism and imagery, and especially the bewildering final episode! Years before the DVD box sets came out, the entire series was aired on cable channel Bravo on a programming block called “TV Too Good for TV” so I taped all of the episodes religiously.
