The Madness of Roland is not a game. It's an interactive novel.

Wow, I compiled a list in Excel a couple of days ago and completely forgot about it. Here's the most accurate ranking of my tastes I could come up with, then. I only took into consideration the (originally) commercial games I had completed:

I haven't. Is it an adventure game? Wikipedia calls it an RPG.
(If it counts, it currently holds the place as the #1 adventure game ever in this thread, since only you have mentioned it, and you rank it above everything else.)

Well Ign and Gamestats also consider it an RPG and even Mobygames you linked consider it an Action Adventure in short it is apparent that Bioforge is not a "pure" adventure as the other games listed here so don't fret about it.

its interesting, since i never really considered lba an adventure game. its one of my all time favourite games, but more of an action rpg.
i can understand why adventure gamers would want to include it in the adventure genre, since it's so good, but then we should include a whole lot of other games as well, maybe even tombraider.

If that was the case this is a strange way of ranking games. I'd better read your links again to understand this better.

RPG purists (if they even exist) would probably not count LBA as an RPG either, I think. It lacks certain characteristics that are common in these games. It's not a traditional adventure either, I give you that. But enough to make it to my list, though. --Erwin
