Adventure game scene… uh, game (continued)
Artistically, I can understand why the developer did it, but I’ve grown emotionally attached to the likable, plucky, and sometimes funny* shade and only want to make things right for him.
*i.e. “Eternity is overrated.”
You can spend hours in the Hall of Eternity without getting anywhere. Please post when/if you’ve managed to make things right for him.
Back to the topic. I know I should recognize your pic, but I don’t. A familiar unpleasant feeling.

I occasionally just remember this game for no apparent reason at all. I thought the main character was a bore, but the artist in the previous screenshot (aunt Judith, psychic painter!) stuck with me.
That’s “(Banks of) the Seine at Asnieres” by Renoir.
..and I think it’s in “Gabriel Knight 3: Blood of the Sacred, Blood of the Damned”, so I’ll go with that as the answer.
The game has lots of art, but it’s not a GK game.

I’ve noticed pixelated reproductions of famous paintings in adventure games before, but there’s so much of it in so many games.
