Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Saturday 7 July 2012
Today, I’m starting another short round of games I haven’t played, and for some reason I thought about Cryo’s Lost Eden. I tried reading up on it a bit, but I couldn’t really get a clear idea of what the story and gameplay were like. But it has dinosaurs! That people ride! That’s got to be cool! And supposedly it has a great soundtrack.
Does anyone remember that game?
I remember my brother playing it. Supposedly it isn’t all that great.
Cryo is a f… legend! They’re like Pink Floyd and David Gilmour’s solo - even if the song sucked, it sucked with a style.
I’m not saying Lost Eden sucks. It’s on my “to do” list, but not before the Atlantis series.
Recently finished: Four Last Things 4/5, Edna & Harvey: The Breakout 5/5, Chains of Satinav 3,95/5, A Vampyre Story 88, Sam Peters 3/5, Broken Sword 1 4,5/5, Broken Sword 2 4,3/5, Broken Sword 3 85, Broken Sword 5 81, Gray Matter 4/5\nCurrently playing: Broken Sword 4, Keepsake (Let\‘s Play), Callahan\‘s Crosstime Saloon (post-Community Playthrough)\nLooking forward to: A Playwright’s Tale

Considering he said he hasn’t played the game, I doubt he was using any capture software.
An adventure game is nothing more than a good story set with engaging puzzles that fit seamlessly in with the story and the characters, and looks and sounds beautiful.

Talking dinosaurs!!
never played the full game but played the demo a bunch of times… The demo at least had an amazing soundtrack
Wow, this takes me back. A former classmate of mine (who I haven’t seen in over ten years) had this game and lent it to me (best guess: in 1998). It was an enjoyable game until I reached a game-breaking bug. My guess is that I was about 3/4 into the game at that point. Had to give the game back unfinished because of it.
Spent a lot of time looking for this game last year because I’d forgotten the title. Found it again when I recognised a screenshot in the “Adventure game scene… uh, game” thread. It’s been added to my list of games to play ever since…
Cryo made good games (except Conspiracy/KGB which was brutally unforgiving), and it’s a shame they went under. Dune for instance was awesome, and the visuals were often ahead of its time. And Conspiracy/KGB had Donald Sutherland in it!
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
