Adventure Game Scene of the Day — Wednesday 13 February 2013
I haven’t played Deponia (and never will), but here’s a scene from it!
(and never will)
This raises the question “why?”...
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka

Ah, the above statement made me think you weren’t even willing to give this a chance. If you started it but quit because you found it boring, then that’s a different matter…
Edit: whoops, brainfart. You linked to a Chains of Satinav review, not a Deponia one.
Oh well, I haven’t played ANY of Daedalic’s games yet, so I honestly have no opinion…

Lol
Deponia and Chains of Satinav are actually two very different games, just because you didn’t like The Whispered World and Chains, then it doesn’t mean you wouldn’t like Deponia.
You have to play the game, to find out why you are playing the game! - eXistenZ
I haven’t got to that ‘screenshot’ in Deponia yet but enjoying it so far as I’ve got!

I’m sure this makes a lot of sense from a rational perspective, but when it comes to Daedalic I’m long past rational thought.
Anyway, I don’t want this to turn into another episode of “Stuff Kurufinwe hates”, so I’ll shut up now.
... then it doesn’t mean you wouldn’t like Deponia.
He wouldn’t, trust me. He hates humorous adventures. He hates people. Probably because by his own admission he’s “jaded and bitter”. What do you expect from someone who tells people who visit his profile (on the old forums) to “go away”. He likes sarcasm and sneers. And of course he’s superior to everybody else and he’s always right.
Now playing: ——-
Recently finished: don’t remember
Up next: Eh…
Looking forward to: Ithaka of the Clouds; The Last Crown; all the kickstarter adventure games I supported

Too late. If you don’t want to draw attention to your hatred, you should pay more attention to your wording.

This is going places fast
My very early impressions of the 1st Deponia is that it’s beautiful. But a tutorial for an adventure game? Why?
I started it on Mac and ran into a bug where I would get stuck in a dialogue unable to exit. I searched online but couldn’t find a solution. Anyone got this?

Sounds like a very, very, very old man (or Advie Addie Hitler ). It all comes with the years.
It could always be worse, remember that.

I see what you did there…
It’s because there are a LOT of bigger classic titles that I haven’t played yet, and I want to play those before I get to the Daedalic games.
Or are Daedalic considered superior to Gabriel Knight & Tex Murphy and the likes?
It’s not like I will never play a Daedalic game. It’s just not in the immediate future…

Introduce Hitler and Godwin’s Law comes into effect! End of discussion. Don’t go there. Please?

LOL! And no, that doesn’t give him the right to call ME jaded and bitter.

Deponia is a very good game. Unlike most I really liked Rufus, the main character. Didn’t find him annoying at all.
And no, that doesn’t give him the right to call ME jaded and bitter.
I hate to butt in and it’s hardly any of my business, but I am positive that Kurufinwe was just joking.
If you are also kidding around, please accept my apologies and carry on.
