AdventureX 2012 - London 15+16 Dec 2012
Hi folks, I’d like to give you a heads up about a possible AdventureX event this year. With your help we can make it happen! No tickets this year, instead a funding campaign on good old IndieGoGo. With the goal met, we can hire a central London location and allow visitors to enter for free.

Another line up of well known and lesser known developers will be along to give talks, there’ll be a bunch of new games to see and plenty more to do. Things are not finalized, and I’d welcome anyone with an interesting idea to get in touch.

If you can spare a few dollars to make it happen in 2012, you’ll help strengthen it for the future - so whether you may be able to turn up this year or not, you can certainly help others enjoy the event this year.
There is disabled access and we’ll have a webcast running this year, on-site wifi and the famous Peticote Lane market is just outside the front door - so come along!
The Adventure Gamers write up of the first event last year:

Features this year - help us reach the funding goal!
- Dave Gilbert, Wadjet Eye Games
- Stephen Marley, Martian Gothic & Dreamweb
- Alex Warren, creator of Quest (for text adventures)
- ??????? ?????, help us reach our goal to announce another special guest!
- Daily games showcasing, choose your own adventure game, short masterclasses
- Competitions, quiz & after-party
Thank you for your support - see you in London later this year?
Sat 15th & Sun 16th December? Awesome! I’ll try to make it.
Please do lewuz! Gotta admit I am bumping, we’ve had a few more contributions but could certainly use a few more. And remember, if it doesn’t reach its goal - the money is returned to you, so picture a “no win no fee” style advert in your head. Actually - don’t, cos then you’ll feel ripped off before you’ve even contributed
A quick update - another guest added to the list - Jon Ingold CEO for Inkle Studios, who are currently working on a Sorcery! game book with co-operation from Steve Jackson, will be delivering a talk about the studio’s work and the game book adventure scene.
The fundraiser is almost half way, but still quite a way to go yet!
12 days left, we’ve just about reached three quarters of the necessary funding. There’s still time to contribute and help make this adventure game event happen in a month and a half’s time
Badass you’ve secured Dave Gilbert. If I knew I could attend I’d donate, but just getting a ticket to London itself is pretty damn expensive. Why aren’t you located in Germany so I could just drive there
Ah, but you get to enjoy Gamescom and meet all those famous adventurey people that go
Moments after your kind post on the website - FULLY FUNDED!
If anyone is working on an adventure game and wants to present it, likes to get involved in discussions or can give a short masterclass on game design/adventures then feel free to look over this page, there are still slots free in the schedule, and tables to represent your business etc: http://www.screen7.co.uk/adventurex/apply/
Thanks!
*bump*
The date is fast approaching - this will be hosted on the 15th & 16th of December in Central London (not too far from Liverpool Street Station).
Our very own Rob Murrant went along last year out of curiosity and ended up writing an article about the experience: http://www.adventuregamers.com/articles/view/18648
The truth can’t hurt you, it’s just like the dark: it scares you witless but in time you see things clear and stark. - Elvis Costello
Maybe this time I can be strong, but since I know who I am, I’m probably wrong. Maybe this time I can go far, but thinking about where I’ve been ain’t helping me start. - Michael Kiwanuka
In a few years once this has (hopefully) expanded a bit so there’s more stuff on display I’ll probably make a weekend out of it and fly to England to visit. In that time maybe my own game will even be done so I can showcase it, who knows, dreams can happen!
Thanks TimovieMan, it’s a-coming! We have more exhibitors this year than last time and more specialist talks, we’re even going to introduce a few panels this time round too. The schedule is bulging like a fat man’s belly, it’s going to be bigger and better this year and hopefully continue to grow so that one day Kasper F. Senior Member will attend
And just to remind people it’s free free FREE to visit! Just bring yourself, and an array of interesting inventory items that you’ve picked up along the way. The venue is situated down the famous Peticote Lane so do Wiki that cos it’s quite interesting.
MORE NEWS IN THE COMING DAYS!
