Not bad. Didn't they use to play metalcore or am I confusing them with another band?

Broken Social Scene - Our Faces Split the Coast In Half

Apparently very big in Canada, which surprises me since they are hardly conventional. I guess Canadians must have better taste in music or something.

I'm a fan of BSS. Not that it sounds all that similar but (Leslie) Feist is recording solo these days and her voice is just heavenly.

I bought 5 Style's self-titled (I'm decidedly a Chicago post-rock lover) and Boards of Canada's Campfire Headphase yesterday.

Campfire Headphase is a great album, I, unlike some people, thought that the addition of noticeable guitars was a good idea.
And I agree, Leslie Feist both looks and sounds heavenly.

Woo, the new Infected Mushroom album is out, and it is good (unless you can't part with the idea that Infected Mushroom has to be pure psytrance).

Used to be a bit heavier. I, personally, like watching metal bands go through any kind of changes. Good variety.

Listening to:

Unearth: Zombie Autopilot

Video: Zombie Autopilot

Sure, I like good black and death metal. Nile, Murdok, Anaal Nathrakh are among my favorite bands. Nile's latest album doesn't quite convince me though.

EDIT:
And just to prove that I appreciate good death sounds:

Behemoth - Arcana Hereticae

I consider Campfire Headphase to be the other half of Music Has the Right to Children, the airier dreamier side, whereas Geogaddi explored more fully the darker sounds and beats of their seminal album. I can't say I haven't loved everything I've heard from them; they are at least for the time being one of my favorite groups.

Oh, and

Jane Jenson - More Than I Can

I laugh when I remember when.
You fail with words and try again
And bring the words into your hands.
Onto my skin and there it lands
You want the light inside my body.
Makes you nervous.
Makes you naughty.
You want truth inside the lie.
You want the hurt

And that's just more than I can give.
That's just more than I can give
I'm gonna save myself first...

I agree, variety is a good thing. Never heard of Unearth actually, pretty good.

Really? I'm impressed. Behemoth is great, one of the best livebands I've ever seen. The Apostasy is a great record.

Listening to:

The Autumn Offering: Embrace the Gutter

Video: Embrace the Gutter

Then some classic Death Metal...

Entombed: Stranger Aeons

Video: Stranger Aeons

Sidebar, oddly enough, the lead singer in that video didn't do the vocals... it was the drummer. Dunno why the stand-in but hey, great album anyway.
