This is from the Bioshock thread (I didn't want to derail that one):

Roman mentioned the commercial where they used La Mer. They're playing one here using Bobby Darin's Beyond the Sea.

Hmm, I just found La Mer on YouTube. Are they the same song (except one's in French obviously)*?

Paradise Lost - In Requiem

One of their best records in recent years. I will try and witness them on their tour next month.

Unless that's an album I haven't heard of I think you want this thread.

This one is a music thread.

they're a great band, if you like that, then I'd recommend the albums "Sonic Nurse" and "Murray Street".

Still failing to find Slowdive albums in shops, I reach the conclusion that I will use the Incredible Interwebs.

Oh yea, that reminds me. Which Sonic Youth albums should I give a-go-go? I think you already know my taste in music.

I think you might like A Thousand Leaves and the albums since, being as they tend to show their influence both on and from "post-rock" bands like Tortoise and Mogwai, along with the first few SYR EPs (if you can find them, that is).

Daydream Nation is also a must.
