I like 'em, especially the one below.

I also love the fly on the dandelion. I'm just wondering what, eh, size your objective (or object lens (not talking about your goals in life now )) is? Can't easily take pics like that with a basic objective.

All the pictures you talk about were taken with my Sigma 105 mm macro lens. I love that lens. Although it has a few flaws and cons (the lack of image stabilizer makes it hard to use in low light conditions without a tripod) it produces very good images and is useable from large distances to quite close to the subject (but not so close that you scare it away).

Haha people just don't get us ! Well some of it is true though.
Well I always like the untraditional in all aspects of life, so the picture to the botton does contribute an interesting angle.
The one above is done plenty of times before ,but its still a nice picture which could be used as a nice background (id love to use it as my desktop picture)

Wow the difference between summer and winter is enormous! Nice set of pics Mike. How long have you been photographing? Me, since 2002 or so.

Well more around 2005/2006 if I recall was when I started doing it for fun.
I keep telling myself I should take photos more often than I do, despite doing it for some years. It is still more of a spontanious thing if I am on a trip or something.

Yeah the differences when looking back at it is pretty fascinating considering much things change for the summer.

I'm finally back with a few more photos

Here's the same gallery: http://s627.photobucket.com/albums/t.../AG%20resized/
And as a slide show: http://s627.photobucket.com/albums/t...view=slideshow

First of all, here's (first) an example from the previous update, again through the colored window (yes, I'm obsessed, but I just love that window ) and then new. There's more in the gallery (and links to a few examples).

(Edit): You know what's interesting? When you look at yellow (and to a slightly lesser amount green) things (flowers, mainly) through the blue window, they appear red...

Here's a photo from the best place in my home town, the Aulanko park:

And, because you had a thing going on, here's some pics to the flower wars:

More coming...

Alright, sorry about spamming with photos, but I'm not sure how many look into the galleries

And a few spring pictures, and some random stuff...

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC00864.jpg

I've been doing lots of spontaneous photo sessions recently, I'll see about posting some of them too, soon... Lots of flower stuff, 'cause you inspired me to try it out (I've never really done it before). And once I have the time, I'll go around taking some photos of the town... I guess I could also try to find some winter photos and do these comparisons you've been doing now I doubt I have that many of winter photos from here though. More from neighbouring areas...

Thats really great Uptimist, this thread felt like it was dying a bit, so glad to see someone else contributing too!

Some of those dark lighting experiments are very cool, I love particulary the first one
and this one..

http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...oivikko012.jpg

I truly find this one amazing
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC00864.jpg

I like how it almost feels like a frame, the contrasts with the blurry middle and sharpness in the "frames".

A lot of lovely pictures and nice views from that park! keep up the good work!

Yesterday i caughed 2 birds fighting really close to me but I was too slow to react even if I had 20 seconds of chance and a camera in my hand , so stupid of me to not snap for the sake of it. But here are some contributions.

Mike, I love those landscape pictures. And tsa and Uptimist, you really have a way with colors.

Now that I feel better again I can comment on the pictures that were posted in the last few days. Uptimist, I love this one:

The colors are really nice. You love that colored window don't you?
I also love the one of the frozen lake. Is that a track I see on the ice?

And Mike, I like your cloud picture a lot. And this one is also very nice:
Birds are so b***** hard to photograph in the wild! Here you not only managed to get a nice picture of the bird but also a cool see-through between the trees.

Mike, this one is awesome. If you wanted to photoshop it a bit, you might do a little cropping (although, I also like that the bird is not the center at first, but then you start focusing on it more and more) and maybe a bit of enhancement on the beak, to really distinguish it from the dark surroundings.

Then again, I'm usually all for the no-enhancement policy, so no need for that

And tsa, that track you see was indeed a track when there was snow there (for skiing (cross-country skiing, that is)), but then it created those figures when it melted away There's also one pretty interesting figure, though of course I just didn't realize to take a closer picture when I was there that time, but if you look here:
http://i627.photobucket.com/albums/t...d/DSC00575.jpg
quite low and left, just right to those two firs, there's a symbol-like figure that doesn't look like much in this pic, but when you got a good look at it it was quite odd.

I sure do

I have a couple more pics on the way again. I'll try to post more of them as links this time

Well I do have 4 more pictures of that bird (same angle) so heres some others if they "stand out" more

Yeah thanks for the sympathy! anyone who capture birds perfectly are heroes! *yet to get a proper wild bird picture* but as I said before I actually had one rare moment where these small birds were fighting each other 1 meter away from me but was too slow and fascinated to react. :'(

I still think the first pic is the best. It's somehow the most balanced...

Of course people need to fill up their hard drive with pictures of their kittehs (I certainly do). Mike, yours seems to be weeping at the eyes quite a bit.
